Ultracold mixtures of Hg and Rb atoms

A project founded by National Science Centre Call Opus 4

This project combines the expertise of several Polish researchers proficient in theory and experiments  on ultracold matter physics. Its main objective is to create a new and unique laboratory setup that will allow to study ultracold mixture of rubidium and mercury atoms, their photoassociation and ultraprecise spectroscopy with ultrastable lasers. The experimental part of the project will be supported by dedicated theoretical studies which will help to understand the experimental results and explore new ideas of assoctiation of ultracold Hg and Rb atoms into molecules.
