Title: Monitoring and guiding development of infants

• Objective: understanding infant's developmental processes, perception, working memory, motivation.

  Strategy: combine developmental psychology, hardware and software development, signal analysis to create first truly hi-tech infant development lab. Change the world by providing safer intelligent interactive environments and toys for infants. Initial focus is on phonematic hearing and working memory.

• Participants: Włodzisław Duch, Joanna Dreszer, and all people connected to the Neurocognit Laboratory, Center for Modern Interdisciplinary Technologies, Nicolaus Copernicus University, Torun, Poland
• Time: from 2013

Results:

Current status: We have obtained grants for equipment (EEG, TMS, saccadometers, audiometry, access to a 3T fMRI).
In 2013 the new building hosting our lab (5 rooms) and several others has been finished, furniture came at the end of 2013, equipment too. Some training sessions how to use the equipment has been conducted.
We have won a grant (about 1 million USD) to set up the lab and perform experiments in 2014-19. We shall be highering postdocks and graduate students at the beginning of 2014.
We have many ideas and will be looking for international cooperation as well as more funds.
